A 29-year-old man allegedly took his own life on Tuesday after incurring a loss of Rs 2 lakh in cricket betting. The deceased, identified as Somesh from Gundla Pochampalli, was discovered near a railway track under the Medchal police jurisdiction.

The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Preliminary reports suggest that financial distress due to betting losses may have contributed to the extreme step.
